Cancer SafeŽ Test range
The Cancer Safe® Test range are highly sophisticated
tests that detect cancer ‘tumour markers’
early and before a tumour becomes malignant. Our
affiliated laboratories use the most advanced
technology and equipment in order to provide you
with reliable, accurate results.
What are Tumour Markers?
Tumour Markers are substances (usually proteins)
that are produced by the body in response to cancer
growth. In the presence of cancer, these substances
are elevated and detectable in blood samples.
If you are concerned about Lung Cancer, Ovarian
Cancer, Breast Cancer or any other Cancer, the
Cancer Safe® Test is the perfect test for you.
Why do a Cancer Safe® Test?
Early detection of cancer is important. If
cancer is detected at an early stage, it can
be curable. This can save your life or at least
allow you to get a baseline for the future.
In order to cover a large range of cancers (the
main ones), the Cancer Safe® Test range
of tests incorporate the main tumour markers
detected worldwide.

SmokerŽ Test (Lung Cancer)
What is Smoker®
Test?
The Smoker ® Test is a sophisticated
blood test which can be useful in detecting
lung cancer, and recurrences of lung cancer,
before clinical signals appear. Early detection
can lead to a cure and can help to increase
the overall health of clients by enhancing
and promoting health, wellness and quality
of life.
Why should you do SmokerŽ
Test?
Smoker ® Test can detect lung cancers
before the appearance of any clinical or
radiological (visible on x-ray) signs. Generally,
if diagnosed using x-ray, it has been diagnosed
too late and 50% show that the cancer has
already spread to other organs.
It is advisable to have regular
SmokerŽ Test checks in all people who:
- Inhale cigarette or shisha smoke
(whether you smoke only once or twice
a day or smoke heavily)
- Have a hereditary risk of developing
cancer
- Currently have or previously have
had exposure to radon gases, asbestos
and certain chemicals like vinyl chloride,
nickel chromates and coal products.
- Are passive smokers, ie. people that
are in the same vicinity of cigarette
smokers are also at risk of developing
lung cancers due to the inhalation of
second hand smoke.
SHISHA
Shisha smokers are more at risk of developing
lung cancer than cigarette smokers as they
are exposed to larger volumes of smoke.
Though often thought of as less harmful
than cigarettes due to using 'fruit tobacco's'
, at a study by the Department of Health
and Tobacco Control Collaborating Centre,
shows that smoking shisha is as dangerous
or more dangerous than cigarettes. Carbon
Monoxide levels were 4-5 times higher than
those produced from smoking a cigarette.
Ovarian Safe® Test
What is Ovarian
Safe® Test?
Cancersafe is a sophisticated blood test
which provides a new form of screening for
detecting ovarian cancers. Ovarian cancer
is often called a "silent killer"
because many times there are often no symptoms
until the disease has progressed to an advanced
stage. Early symptoms of ovarian cancer
are often mild, making this disease difficult
to detect.
Why
do Ovarian Safe® Test?
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computerised
Tomography (CT), and pelvic ultrasound are
commonly used to detect ovarian cancers.
These methods however will only detect the
cancer when it has reached a significant
size of at least 1-2cms.
Ovarian Safe® Test can detect tumour
markers in the blood and can identify the
cancer before it becomes symptomatic or
visible using the above diagnostic tools.
People who should take this test to detect
and monitor the development of ovarian cancers
regularly are:
- People who have blood relatives (grandmother,
mother, sisters, aunts) on either your
mother's or father's side of the family
who had ovarian or breast cancer diagnosed
before age 50.
- While having a family history of
ovarian cancer increases your risk,
90–95% of all ovarian cancers
occur in women who do not have a family
history.
- Research has shown that some women
are at increased risk of ovarian cancer
following hormone replacement therapy
post menopause.
- Researchers have found that using
the fertility drug clomiphene citrate
(Clomid®) for longer than one year
may increase the risk for developing
ovarian tumours.

Breast SafeŽTest
What is Breast
SafeŽTest?
Breast Safe® Test is a blood test which
detects and measures tumour markers in the
presence of breast cancer. It helps to identify
breast cancer at an early stage before any
symptoms appear.
Why do Breast SafeŽ
Test?
If detected early, survival rate exceeds
95%. As there is no routine breast screening
programme as yet for the Middle East, it
is important to take responsibility and
check for evidence of breast cancer.
- People who have blood relatives (grandmother,
mother, sisters, aunts) on either your
mother's or father's side of the family
who had breast cancer diagnosed before
age 50.
- There is both breast and ovarian
cancer in one's family, particularly
in a single individual.
- Women in the family have had cancer
in both breasts.
- A man in the family has had breast
cancer.
- Even if there is no history and you
are over 40 years of age, it may be
advisable to be screened as part of
a routine health check.
Colon Safe®Test
What is a Colon
Safe®Test?
The Colon Safe® test has been developed
to detect growths in the bowel or rectum
long before it may develop into colorectal
cancer. Why
do a Colon Safe® Test?
People should go for screening of the colon
once a year. People having blood relatives
on either your mother’s or father’s
side of the family who suffered from colon
cancer are at increased risk of developing
it themselves. One of the strongest risk
factors for colon cancer is age. Besides
this, smokers, drinkers, sedentary and obese
persons are more likely to develop colon
cancers.
Anybody that experiences the following may also benefit from taking this test:
- A change in bowel habit like diarrhoea or constipation
- Blood in stool (either bright red or very dark)
- Stools narrower than normal
- General abdominal discomfort
- Unexplained weight loss
- Feeling of incomplete evacuation
- Constant tiredness
Cancer SafeŽ (comprehensive) Test
What is Cancer
SafeŽ (comprehensive) test?
Cancer Safe® test is a highly sophisticated
test to detect early cancer. Tumour markers
have long been used, either to screen for
cancers or to monitor cancer treatments,
to track and screen for recurrences. Tumour
markers are molecules that appear in relation
to development of some of the most important
cancers. Measurement or identification of
tumour markers is useful, because it can
detect substances at early stages indicating
that further medical attention is needed.
Cancer Safe® test can also be useful
in follow-up if you are being treated for
the illness. Variations of the tumour markers
can be followed by regular tests. Slight
to moderate increases of these tumour markers
may occur 6-12 months before clinical signs
of relapse.
The comprehensive Cancer Safe® test includes
testing for many cancers as listed below
and detects a panel of 10 tumour markers
for women and 11 tumour markers for men.
The detection panel looking for 10 specific tumour markers in women includes:
CA 15-3(Breast Cancer), CA 125(Ovarian,
Lung, Pancreatic, Breast Cancer) CA 19-9(Colorectal,
Pancreatic), CA 72-4(Ovarian and Stomach),
B2M(Blood cell cancers, eg. Leukaemia and
Multiple Myeloma), CYFRA 21-1(Head and Neck),
NSE(Neuron specific tumours of central nervous
system), BHCG(Ovarian), AFP(Liver), CEA(Colon
and Rectal.)
The detection panel looking for 11 specific tumour markers in men includes:
CA 19-9(Colorectal, Pancreatic), CA 125(Lung,
Pancreatic, Breast Cancer), CA 72-4(Stomach),
BHCG(testicular), B2M(Blood cell cancers,
eg. Leukaemia and Multiple Myeloma), NSE(Neuron
specific tumours of central nervous system),
CYFRA 21-1(Head and Neck), PSA & fPSA(Prostate
and %free prostate), AFP(Liver), CEA(Colon
and Rectal.)
Who should perform the test?
For early diagnosis, everybody should take
the Cancer Safe® (comprehensive test);
however, certain high risk groups such as
persons with a known familial history of
cancer should be particularly encouraged
to do so.
The Cancersafe (comprehensive) panel should
be performed at least once a year, or more
if required, building your baseline and
data for the future. Your report (since
handling all results) will include graphs,
demonstrating the evolution of the 10 (or
11) tumour markers: any abnormal increases
would be an indication for medical consultation
and further investigation.
