Ancestry By DNA™
Ancestry By DNA™ discovers the hereditary
profile. This is a great tool for those individuals
or groups interested in exploring their ancestry
and lineage. By submitting a DNA sample to
our lab, customers can receive an impressive
analysis of their geographic origins. AncestryByDNA™
will determine your genetic heritage among
the four anthropological groups:
Native American
East Asian
Sub-Saharan African (areas south of the
Sahara Desert)
Indo-European (Europe, Middle East, North
Africa, Western Asia)
These groups are named using modern-day terms
but represent anthropological lineages that
extend back in time tens of thousands of years.
For example, the term “European”
is meant to describe a common ancestry held
by peoples from continental Europe, the Middle
East, Eurasia, Central Asia and South Asia –
sometimes referred to as “Caucasoids”.
EuroDNA™ is a more advanced analysis tool
that allows our clients of European heritage
to more thoroughly understand their ancestry.

Euro DNA™
EuroDNA™ is for the individuals of European
descent who wants to discover their hereditary
profile in greater detail. By submitting a DNA
sample to our lab, customers can receive an
impressive analysis of their European origins.
This service can be purchased as a stand-alone
test or as an upgrade to Ancestry By DNA™.
EuroDNA™ 1.0 and 2.0
are more advanced analysis tools that allows
our clients of European heritage to more thoroughly
understand their ancestry. These services will
predict your European heritage among the following
groups:
DNA-Father traces the Y chromosome, passed down
from father to son and therefore only found
in males. If you’re interested in tracing
this side of your family tree, we can map your
story using a DNA sample from any close male
relative of your fathers
EuroDNA™ 1.0, the first test of its kind
ever developed, is a pan-genome test that reads
your DNA across all 23 of your chromosomes to
report your Sub-European population (i.e. “ethnic”)
affiliations. This service will predict your
Indo-European heritage among the following groups:
Northern European
Southeastern European (Mediterranean)
Middle Eastern
South Asian
The Northern European region is comprised of
the British Isles, Czech Republic, France, Germany,
Poland, Scandinavia, Spain, Switzerland, etc.
The Southeastern European region is comprised
of Italy, Greece and Turkey. The Middle Eastern
region is comprised of countries near the Persian
Gulf and the Red Sea including Egypt, Iran,
Iraq, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, etc., and countries
in North Africa, including Algeria, Libya, Morocco,
etc. The South Asian region is comprised of
India and Pakistan .
The EuroDNA™ 2.0 test
takes the two categories from the 1.0 test that
include Northern and Southeastern European ancestry
and divides them further into Continental European
categories:
Southeastern Europe (SEE)
Iberian (IB)
Basque (BAS)
Continental European (CE)
Northeastern European (NEE)
South-eastern European (SEE) from eastern Spain
across Italy, Greece and Turkey, to Bulgaria
and Armenia. This would include the Jewish populations
of that area (not as a religion). Iberia (IB)
- the Iberian Peninsula of Spain and Portugal;
Basque (BAS) the region of the Pyrenees Mountains
between Spain and France; Continental European
(CE) which includes the central portion of the
European continent such as Germany, France,
Switzerland, the Netherlands, etc. plus Great
Britain and Ireland; North-eastern European
(NEE) from Poland, the Baltic Countries, Western
Russia, the Ukraine and Belarus into the Scandinavian
Countries to Northern Finland including the
Sami populations of Lapland.
Information available from the EuroDNA™
1.0 test contains Middle Eastern and South Asian
ancestral heritages. These are not specifically
included in the data from the EuroDNA™
2.0 test, except that the South Asians did become
the Romas (Gypsies) of Europe. The Romas settled
mainly in Iberia and Eastern European countries
such as in Romania and Bulgaria.
The test is suitable for any person who has
taken AncestryByDNA™ 2.5 (ABD2.5) and
obtained a European score of at least 50% but
less than 40% East Asian, 15%
sub-Saharan African and less than 15% Native
American ancestry.
Ancestry-Mito
Trace the origin of direct maternal lineage.
Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) is passed down from
mother to child. Men have their mother's mtDNA,
but do not pass it on to their children. There
are 30 major maternal lineages identified worldwide.
The Ancestry-Mito test identifies from your
DNA sample which one of the 30 maternal lineages
is present and identifies the broad geographic
region throughout which the lineage is found.
This test traces lineage only along the maternal
line. For example, if your mother's great-grandfather's
lineage was Native American, it would not be
detected with this test.
Ancestry- Y
Trace the origin of direct paternal line. Only
men carry the Y-chromosome so it is passed only
from father to son. There are 18 major paternal
lineages identified worldwide. The Ancestry-Y
test identifies from a sample which one of the
18 paternal lineages is present and identifies
the broad geographic region throughout which
the lineage is found.
Only males can take this test. Women interested
in their paternal ancestry need a father, brother,
paternal uncle or paternal male cousin to provide
a DNA sample to determine their lineage. This
test traces only along the strict paternal line.
For example, if your paternal great-grandmother's
lineage was Asian, it will not be detected with
this test.
